I don't recommended to do very advance tasks with PARTITIONS because it's very dangerous to destroy a disk or partitions which you don't. Shrink Partition it's not reccommended to do it in Local Disk C which is the Primary Partition of the Operating System.ĭisk Management Utility has disadvantages but for basic tasks it's very helpfull. With the Shrink Simple Volume you must be very carefull and sure what you do because it's very easy to destroy a partition all delete data you need. Change the number in MB that you want to remove from partition. Be careful because by default has all the available space of partition to shrink.Check the Avilable Shrink Space and type the number in Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB.You can see the Total size before shrink, Size of Available Shrink Space,Total size after shrink.Right Click and select Shrink Simple Volume.Identify the partition that you want to shrink.Write the number in MB that you want to exetnd and click Next.If you don't want to extend all the available space change the number in MB that you need.By Default in Select the amount of space has all the available space that you can extend.You must check the Maximum Available Space which is the available space that can extend your Partition.You can see the Total Volume, Maximum Available Space, Select the amount of space.Right Click and select Extend Simple Volume.Identify the partition that you want to extend.If you want to extend or shrink a partition that you already use follow the steps: It will take less a minute and the disk will be formated.You will Prompt that all the Data will be erase from your Disk.Rename the Volume Label or use the default and click OK.BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE SELECT THE RIGHT DISK. Identify the appropriate Disk in the Disk Manager.When you insert the Internal Hard Drive in your PC you must Format the HDD. If you have buy a new Hard Disk and you woud like to use it as different Partition. When the new Partition created successfull the color will be change to blue and you can find it in My Computer as new Hard Drive.Click Finish to create the new Partition.It's the name that you want to give in new Hard Disk.Click next. Don't change any of these settings except from Volume Label Name.Assign a drive Letter that you want for the new Partition and click Next.Selec the size of your Partition in MB and click Next.Right Click and select New Simple Volume. Find the unused partition in Disk Management.(It is with black color).You don't have free space and you must create a new partition. Let's assume that you have a Disk with multiple partitions. When the Partition wil be deleted it will change color from blue to black.You will promtp that all the data will be lost.Identify the partition that you want to delete.But Be Sure that you have backup all the data that you need.
